A cheap, serviceable alternative to MXR Carbon Copy

This is a nice little analog delay pedal that sounds good out of the box. This is on the darker sounding side but not as dark as a Carbon copy. The possibility to set the depth of the modulation effect without having to open the pedal is a nice added feature. Yet I have a few quibbles regarding this thing: - it self oscillates very quickly and in a quite abrupt way. Therefore, short delays with a lot of feedback is not a possibility - quality of construction is doubtable. I wanted to open the box to try to set the modulation at lower speed and the screws had been tightened up so much that it proved impossible to open without damaging the screws' thread. So I had to leave it as it was. - the switch is a tad weird and sometimes it just doesn't work. You have to push it quickly and the effect starts only when releasing it and not just when you push it ... it's a bit confusing and that's clearly sub-optimal for using it live. But overall you can't go too wrong for 50 euros.

Preferred Settings + Usage:

Depth just below noon, Delay at 10.30, feedback at 9.30, volume in-between 10 and 11 makes for a very nice short delay that does not get in the way of your playing. Great for chords and arpeggios.
