Critic Reviews

Telefunken Alchemy Series

soundonsound.com

Telefunken's Alchemy series strikes a compelling balance between vintage aesthetics and modern functionality, offering robust microphones like the TF39 and TF51 that cater to various recording needs. The TF39 shines as a versatile all-rounder, with a pleasing tonal character that excels across vocals and instruments. However, the TF47 may leave some users wanting, as it struggles with balance on certain vocal types. While the price tag is substantial, the quality and thoughtful design justify the investment, especially for those seeking reliable studio performance. Overall, a worthwhile addition for serious musicians and engineers.
