Great booster, buffer and/or overdrive
First thing: I don't know why this is cheaper than a Super Hard-On. It's the same thing, but it has more capabilities and it's smaller. But it's cheaper. Doesn't make sense.
You can use this as a clean boost if you put the master volume (left knob) all the way up, which will bring you to unity volume with the gain all the way down. Then you can start cranking the gain to push your amp.
OR you can crank the gain but lower the volume to create a very natural, crunchy overdrive.
I use it as an overdrive, with the gain around 3-o-clock and the volume at like 10-o-clock. Works real well, doesn't get enough love.
