So understated.
This small powerhouse will easily keep up in most situations. Small and light enough to carry anywhere it is easy to underestimate this amp. Wonderful cleans and excellent interactions with pedals. A must have amp if you ever get the chance.

"GC: The leads for 'Alone' off of Hand It Over sounded a little bit different. Can you describe the tone you got for that and how you got it?
Mascis: 'Alone' had a lot of effects. I think a lot of it is the LoveTone Meatball and the Ibanez AD9 delay from the same era as the Tube Screamers everybody liked.
GC: Was there any direct recording on that?
Mascis: The first solo at the beginning is out of the back of the Fender Super Champ amp direct."
The Super Champ was also used during Mascis' interview for Noisey's Guitar Moves series.
In this interview, regarding the recording of “Out Of The Cellar”, Warren states:
Did you really use a Fender Super Champ to record the solo tones on Out of the Cellar?
Yes, a Fender Super Champ, and I disconnected the speaker and plugged it into an EV speaker that was loaded in an Orange cab. I had an orange cab with four 200-watt EV speakers – the thing weighed about a million pounds. We went directly into one of those speakers and mic’d that up.
Along with his first Strat, Quine got a Tremolux amp - one of Fender's first piggy-back models. He owns several vintage Fender tube amps, including: "The greatest amp I've ever owned - a little Fender Super Champ with the stock Fender speaker, not the Electro-Voice." Quine has used - on tours and in the studio
For some reason Alan found that he could no longer get a good sound out of his trusty Mesa Boogie mk II. Paul had since moved to Fender and designed a small 18-watt amplifier called the Super Champ. Alan was bemused when asked to demonstrate this tiny amplifier, but after a couple of days, despite the lack of volume, became totally dedicated to the tone. From then on (1981/2) Alan always used Champs for recording solos. Alan owned 3 ‘Champs’ and none were modified at all, aside from changing the wiring so that the footswitch controlled the mid-boost instead of reverb (Alan didn’t use the amplifier’s reverb.)
