Great Guitar!!
Humbucker, single-coil, and acoustic tones along with Floyd Rose trem, highlight this progressive rock guitar. Created through extensive work with Alex, this new model incorporates the Graphtech Ghost-equipped Floyd Rose licensed tremolo and newly designed output circuitry that offers unprecedented signal routing (via "Regular" output jack and/or "Life-O-Sound" output jack) and tonal shaping flexibility (via push/pull pots) that make full use of the guitar's complete pickup arsenal consisting of piezo and 496R ceramic-magnet neck humbucker and 498T Alnico V bridge humbucker.
To give the Alex Lifeson Les Paul Axcess the best possible foundation, Gibson Custom works with premium woods that are selected for their sublime look as well as their superior resonant qualities. A quarter-sawn mahogany neck is joined to the body with a glued-in long-tenon joint, and topped with a traditional rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets and acrylic trapezoid inlays, just the way it's been done since 1952. Kluson-style tuners with pearloid keystone buttons add to the vintage vibe at the headstock end, but down south the electronics and hardware take this guitar into another millennium.
In addition to its traditional Les Paul tonewoods, the Alex Lifeson Les Paul Axcess carries two high-output humbucking pickups with series/parallel wiring options via its push-pull volume controls series/parallel options on its push-pull volume controls, and a Floyd Rose licensed unit that not only provides the world's most efficient vibrato system, but is also loaded with GraphTech Ghost piezo bridge saddles. Access traditional Gibson magnetic humbucker tones, mix it up with fat and funky series/parallel options, tap the Ghost's realistic acoustic tones, or blend acoustic and magnetic voices-the sky's the limit from this sonic chameleon, whose sound-shifting depths are virtually limitless. What's more, you can route it all through a traditional mono jack (labeled "Regular") using a single guitar cable, or use two cables to split your sonic trickery off into separate output paths using the "Regular" and the "Life-O-Sound" output jacks together. All this, and the Alex Lifeson Les Paul Axcess still presents that timeless Les Paul look that has remained a classic for more than 50 years.
Since the mid-1970s, Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson has personified the consummate rock innovator--a sonic adventurer capable of producing mind-blowing power chords and dizzying arpeggios alike, ultimately sculpting them into huge, rich melodies and ingenious arrangements.
Best Guitar I Ever Owned
The Gibson Alex Lifeson Axcess Les Paul is one of the best made guitars I have owned. It is a bit on the heavy side, but that is typical for this style of electric. I believe they did carve out some of the interior to modify the sound to make the most effective use of the "Life-O-Sound" piezos. The use of this mode is more complex than one might expect due to the need to have two ¼" outputs in use at the same time. Furthermore, the use of the topside knobs is not intuitive as they have multiple push-pull combinations to achieve the mix between electric and acoustic. Regardless, this is a fine instrument that I will never part with and pass to my children some day. If you can get your hands on one, you will never regret it.

My most versatile guitar!
I use a stereo volume pedal to sweep between the standard electronics paired with a Marshall or Kemper and its piezo pickup through a L.R. Baggs Para Acoustic DI straight to the mixer. Amazing guitar!
