Description
Steeped in history and echoing the rich Gibson heritage, the Gibson L-00 is a modern recreation of the iconic 1932 model. Whether you regard it as a 'parlor guitar' or 'blues box', this exceptional piece delivers the robust and focused tone Gibson is renowned for, all wrapped up in a comfortable and petite package.
Handcrafted by Gibson's master luthiers in Bozeman, Montana, the L-00 Standard carries over a century of acoustic guitar building expertise. The solid Sitka spruce top has been thermally aged to enhance its tonal quality and vintage appearance, producing a balanced acoustic voice with crisp highs, rich lows, and a resonating midrange. Complementing the spruce top are solid mahogany back and sides, known for their warmth and depth, providing that signature Gibson sound in a compact form.
When it's time to turn up the volume, the L-00 Standard houses the LR Baggs VTC pickup system. The system accurately captures the guitar's acoustic properties and dynamics, providing a natural amplified sound that is unmistakably Gibson. The vintage sunburst finish, faux tortoise pickguard, and timeless design invite inspiration, while the slim mahogany neck and modest body depth ensure a comfortable playing experience.

“I’m just kind of relaxing back into my life, and I’m playing guitar a little bit every day,” Kozelek says. “The most recent guitar that I got that I love is an old ’30s L-00. I’m playing that so much right now.”
Jacob Slater was seen using a black Gibson L-00, possibly an original from the 1933-1936, during their live acoustic show at Balades Sonores in Paris, France, on May 12, 2025. This is evidenced by an image from the event.
The pickguard has been replaced. It looks like modern tortoise, rather than the vintage firestripe design. That makes it a 1933-1936 L-00 Black finish would have had a white pickguard originally.
"Though Smith has donated a number of signed items to the auction, the premier auction offering is her 1956 Gibson LG-1 acoustic guitar to be signed by her at the event. A 50-year-old Gibson guitar is a fitting auction item since Smith’s very first guitar was an L-00 Gibson acoustic made in the 1930s. Of her own Gibson she’s said, 'I bought it in 1971, and I still have it. It’s the guitar I write most of my songs on. It’s my most precious guitar.'"
During her Good Riddance Tour (2023) and Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour (2023), Gracie has been seen using a Gibson L-00 Standard as her primary acoustic-electric guitar.
