Good for a first set of monitors!

When I first got into music producing and putting my own home studio together, these were my first pair of monitors. I saw a lot of my favorite hip hop musicians/producers using them so I followed along. I'd say they're great as a first pair if you're not planning on doing heavy mixing and mastering, but they can be a little muddier than other monitors such as the Yamahas which I know own.

Alright

Not impressed with the witch hunt over how KRK apparently sucks. They make okay gear that is popular... They do need to put some more thought into their circuitry. Picked up a set for $100 on local classifieds, one was blown. Turns out the power rail capacitors leaked and fried a resistor. Easy fix, so very cheap for me!

Great Sound, Bad Noisefloor, and Don't Work Sometimes.

These monitors sound great, I'll give them that, but they aren't perfect. They're not particularly accurate, and have more of a hi-fi sound to be honest. The noise floor is also pretty high, and there is an audible hiss if the track volume isn't high enough. My main complaint with them, however, is that my left monitor just flat out doesn't work. Before, it was much quieter than my right monitor, but after a while, would warm and reach the same volume. Now it just doesn't produce any sound. I don't know if it's just mine, but be wary if you're looking to purchase a pair.

Snagged off eBay

Found these on eBay and paid $280 for the pair (moral: good prices can be had for older, yet still awesome, equipment). For someone like myself, very much a beginner, the sound can't be beat. I hear everything I want to hear in these.

Speaker and a monitor at the same time

Best-used for semi-professionals who enjoy a bit of casual listening as well as some heavy mixing here and there. Not the best for mastering, but that's not a reason to not buy them. I love the way they sound familiar and good on most modern music.

Large size, impressive bass response for bedroom DJ setups

I use these for my DJ setup in my bedroom studio, they're pretty damn large that's probably my only gripe. Better bass response than many of their competitors (without a sub at least).

Discovering a new soundscape as a first-time studio monitor user

I experienced a whole new world of sound when I first set them up. To be fair, I'm an amateur producer and these are the first studio monitors I've owned.

Great value, solid workhorse monitor

Clear and present, affordable. Great sounding. I don't think you can wrong with these for a home project studio.
