Excellent unique sound
My first synth too! Classic piece of gear. I had mine modded to give it an even fatter bass (Google it, it's an easy mod) and it sounds amazing.
The best thing about it is that you can sweep through the waveshapes, and the doubling effect gives a slight feeling of having 2 oscillators, although I used it very lightly.
A synth I thought I would never sell but I eventually did, and replaced it with a Moog Grandmother. It was going out of tune all the time, needed servicing often, keys were getting wonky. Normal stuff for a vintage synth. Also I used to own a Moog Prodigy and I was missing a synth with OSC Sync. A small regret that sometimes keeps me up at night, the sound was so very special!

"I take the OBXa, Prophet 5, Roland RS09 strings and a Micro Moog on tour. All the keyboards are direct injected both on stage and in the studio."
Well, it can sound like a minimoog +, well sort of. It can sound like a 2 osc mini with no detune! But,once it warms up, about 10 minutes after its turned on, its rock solid as far as staying in tune. But, this thing can do those crazy space sound fx.. how? well, turn the osc off, put filter on tone, modulate the waveshape, now play with the cut off, waveshape, oh yeah put the freq to wide and play with that too. FAR OUT! Fast envs, gotta be 1ms attack, and it chugs along at fast bpm. it can sound soft, aggro, acidic (in the moog way), and in your face, killer leads, killer bass! I am glad i got this instead of a mini moog? i am leaving something out. I had mine modified. this mod.

This make this thing a bass king, it makes the osc sound huge! read about it, it costs next to nothing to do this mode, and its simple. and turns this into a screamer! Also moog this moog scales at 0.98 volts per octave, makes scaling with a kenton a bit tricky, passable but not perfect. So you can build a cable/box thing to fix it.. the link is here..

All this and you are set to have one of the most killer bass synths ever! Used on Hex Angel.

From "Electronics & Music Maker" February 1984, page 16:
Paul Wiffen: I noticed on a couple of tracks on 'The Eleventh Hour' you got a great string sound, almost like a string quartet. Was that the Roland?
Mark Stanway: No, that was an Emulator, which we hired. That's a wonderful tool. I don't use one on the road, but the guy from Marillion (Mark Kelly - interviewed E&MM July 83) does and he's got whole string parts stored in thesequencer. I could quite get into that, it would leave me free to play the 'real' keyboard parts.
Then in front of me I've got the CP70 (Yamaha Electric Grand), and if you want a grand piano sound on the road, it's the only one to use. I've heard some good things about the Kawai, but I haven't tried one yet.
On top of the Yamaha, I've got the OB-Xa and I'm currently using a MicroMoog on top of that, which I use for bass riffs. It's very quick and easy to change sounds on.
Then on my right I've got the MiniMoog and another MicroMoog, which I use for wind noises, effects and things like that. It's rather convenient as it saves me doing too many sound changes in the set. Perhaps it's a bit of a luxury to double keyboards but it makes you more relaxed. Obviously the ideal thing would be if all the synths had programs. I'm working towards that but this is more comfortable for the moment.
I've just worked a deal out with Studiomaster. They're building me one of their desks, the 16 into 16, into a flight case, and I'll also be able to use it at home in a Portastudio situation. It's a great desk and it's actually designed to take a patch -field as well. Alongside that that they're ,providing me with their new MOS-FET amps, 500W power amps which will be the crossover that powers my back line.
