Moog Taurus 3 review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

Moog's Taurus 3 Bass Pedals capture the essence of the iconic Taurus 1 with modern enhancements. With its robust build and classic Moog sound, this instrument is a must-have for fans of subsonic bass. It boasts a sleek design, USB/MIDI connectivity, and hands-free foot control, but lacks a software editor and could use more foot pedals. Despite its hefty price, the Taurus 3's lush tones and reinvigorated design make it a worthy successor, especially for those seeking that legendary Taurus sound in a contemporary package. A classic sound brought into the modern age.

Phantastic Sound, but poor editing

The Moog Taurus 3 was about 2000€ 10 years ago. Not just a cheap instrument, but why doesn't it have an XLR output? In addition, the operating options are quite cumbersome. To be honest, I've never used the two wheels left and right on the dashboard, because I just don't have enough feeling in my feet to use the controls "musically". Instead, I use a Boss FV500L to control the volume, in which I built in a DI box.

Very good: The pedal is extremely robust and clearly superior to its predecessors. So far I've done about 350 gigs with it and no problems at all.
