Description

The MXR M291 Dyna Comp Mini Compressor Pedal is a modern convenience that brings the classic tone into a compact and pedalboard-friendly format. It's a compact reincarnation of the iconic Dyna Comp, offering the legendary 'squash' tone that musicians have loved for decades. The pedal packs the same punch as its larger predecessor but in a size that's nearly half.

What makes this pedal special is the "metal can" CA3080 IC chip, which was found in vintage Dyna Comps. This chip provides a transparent tone, coupled with low noise, enhancing your guitar rig's natural tone without the need for overdrive. The pedal also features an all-new Attack switch, giving you the choice between slow and fast attack times. Whether you want the classic squish and sustain or a more natural attack that lets your picking dynamics shine through, the MXR Dyna Comp Mini has you covered.

Key Features:

  • Classic MXR compression in a compact, pedalboard-friendly size.
  • Features the same "metal can" CA3080 IC chip found in vintage Dyna Comps for a transparent tone and low noise.
  • All-new Attack switch to toggle between slow and fast attack times.

  • True bypass for preserving signal integrity when not in use.
  • Standard control layout of Sustain and Output.
  • LED status indicator.
  • 6.3 mm jack input and output.
  • Powered by a 9 V DC power supply unit (not included).
  • Note: Battery operation is not supported.

Great an Wonderful

This evenly distributes the sound I swear may even raise the volume. I use it in an amp pedal setting does the job very well.

matteo_cola

Subtle but lovely.

It's not one of those squashy in-your-face compressors, it tends to act more like a big amp with a little volume, hence some natural compression. Which is good, don't you think? Also very effective as a clean boost. Not a big fan of the fast-attack switch, but it's cool to have it.

great

sound is good, but after couple weeks the light couldn't be turned on anymore

jimmarchi1

and its probably surface mount parts, so not fun replacing a faulty diode :-(

oasisroses

no regrets wotsoever.

I bought this to free up space in place of a CS-2. I was a bit sceptical due to the simple layout and fewer knobs but I couldn't be anymore wrong. I have this on all the time and set and forget. the attack knob is interesting and opens up a bit more customisation. built solid as a rock and come with a wall wart too. I don't think I will ever replace this comp.
