Review Roland Boss GT-10 from a guitarists point of view

tonymckenzie.com

The Boss GT-10 Guitar Effects Processor impresses with its robust build and a user-friendly interface that makes sound tweaking a breeze. It's an upgrade from the GT-8, boasting excellent sound emulations and useful features like variable distortion and a built-in loop station. However, while the GT-10 shines as a versatile effects unit, it doesn't replace the authenticity of a traditional amp and cab setup. Despite its quality and reliability, it ultimately lacks the magic that might compel a musician to ditch their existing gear for it.

Boss GT-10 Review

guitarmasterclass.net

The Boss GT-10 Guitar Effects Processor impresses with its expansive clean tones and robust range of effects, making it a versatile tool for those willing to delve into its complexities. However, its high-gain sounds fall short, plagued by a digital fizz that leaves metal enthusiasts wanting. While the "Assigns" feature offers intricate customization, the steep learning curve and reliance on digital modeling might deter users seeking analog authenticity. Despite its reliability and potential for creative soundscapes, the GT-10 is not a plug-and-play solution, demanding patience to unlock its full capabilities. Consider other options if modern metal tones are your priority.

Boss GT-10 review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

Boss GT-10 impresses with fantastic sound quality and a user-friendly looper, making it a solid choice for professionals. Its simplified interface, compared to the GT-8, enhances ease of use without sacrificing flexibility. The construction is robust with a steel casing, although the expression pedal could offer more movement. With 400 patches and a rich array of effects, it provides ample room for creativity. The large display and EZ-Tone feature make navigating its complex system less daunting, while the Phrase Loop is a handy addition for practice and experimentation. Despite its higher price, it's a worthy investment for serious musicians.

It's great for its time.

This is the Line 6 Helix of 2008. It sounds great and it comes with good (and sometimes strange) presets. This thing's suited for any genre, really; punk, blues, metal, CCM, etc.

Boss has done it again! Great multi FX Floor Board! All the effects you can possibly want and so much more!

I bought this GT-10 second hand, though I originally wanted the GT-100 but couldn't find the money for it, so I decided to try the GT-10 out. I read a lot online about the difference between the two, the GT-10 & GT-100, and the similarities is pretty much the same. Of course the GT-100 is a more up-to-date version and better in sound quality, but the GT-10 is really a piece of nice and good sounding effects and amp models. I play in a band, a cover & partyband, and I wanted to be able to have a all-in-one solution. I got tired of all the tap-dancing with regular pedals, so the GT-10 serves me very well! It's really a delight being able to have it all in one box. Some of the features I really love, and use all the time, is the 'assign' function, which allows you, via the two CTL pedals in the unit, to assign different effects to your individual patches. I use it for turning overdrive on/off, chorus on/off, switching from one overdrive to another. Also, via the 'assign' function you can choose which parametres is being controlled on the selection you've selected. The 'Solo Switch' is amazing, it gives the overdrive you're using a boost for solos, really great! Even though the GT-10 is discontinued, I really think that it's one of the best multi FX still on the market today! If you're a multi FX kind of guy or you're getting tired of tap-dancing, try the GT-10!

Very good for starting to use effects

It has all the effects and is great for testing them all. Expression pedal, wah wah... very good also to use it as a sound card to record demos, or to send midi signals to the computer. The distortions... for playing at home or recording demos, they're good.
