Excellent clean, classic Fender tube tone.
If you like the sound of Fender tube amps, this is your combo. Most of the festivals I have played have these or the Twin Reverb in their backline. It's a staple. Way louder than you will EVER need ... I have played huge rooms like the Hard Rock Casino in Biloxi and the volume did not raise above "4." The dirty channels aren't my thing - I use pedals for that - but the crisp chimey clean channel is awesome. Also, I had mine modded by my luthier at Holland Guitars; he put in a lag switch among other things. If you have the means, or the knowledge, there are some great mods for this amp circuit.

Master clean tones!
Best mid-tier clean amp ever! You could really hear even the soul of this guitar with it. Don't waste your time with the dirty channel... Buy a decent od/ds pedal if you want it hard. Reverb is ok overall.

A huge value
Aside from the fact that I found one used for less than half the price of a new one, a new hot rod deluxe is still an absolutely worthwhile purchase. It greatly reflects how fender makes some of the most high quality amps money can buy. The cleans are crystal and for blues or hard rock, even some Sabbath style metal, the dirt channel is pretty satisfying. Overall I would recommend this amp to anyone looking for a versatile workhorse of an amp.

Two modified tweed covered
I have two of these that I modified by building new cabinets that house two twelve inch eminence G12 legend speakers. I covered them with tweed which I love and they are the great compliment to both my guitars and my style
