Peavey ValveKing II 20 Review - Premier Guitar

premierguitar.com

The Peavey ValveKing II 20 is a versatile tube combo amp that impresses with its dynamic response, rich clean tones, and modern features at an affordable price point. With a range of studio-friendly features like USB output and an effects loop, it caters well to both gigging and recording musicians. The amp delivers a wide variety of tones across its two channels, but the digital reverb can sound artificial at higher volumes. Despite this minor drawback, the ValveKing II 20's performance and price make it a compelling choice for those seeking classic tube sound with modern convenience.

Wide range of tones.

I really like this amp. Have it for over 2 years now and I've used it for everything from vintage pushed cleans all the way up to tight progressive metal. The controls for tight/loose and A/AB style amp give it versatility, while the switches for bright (clean channel) and gain and boost (lead channel) give it more voicings. +Pros: Versatility, Sound, Durability -Cons: Too much gain, with some guitars I have to dial it back to 1-3/10
