Despite its bulky look, the amp boasts an industrial charm and useful features like USB recording and an inbuilt tuner. Peavey Vypyr VIP 1 review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Peavey Vypyr VIP 1 is a versatile and compact amp that impresses with its ability to handle electric, bass, and acoustic guitars thanks to Peavey's Variable Instrument Performance technology. It's praised for its decent tones, ease of use, and a plethora of tweakable features, including digital modeling and effects. The built-in tuner and USB interface add further functionality, making it a great choice for home use, rehearsals, and recording. However, while it's packed with value, its tones and effects won't compete with high-end modeling amps. Overall, a solid choice for those seeking versatility on a budget.

Good for bass too

Also good for bass. Interesting programming. Wish it had a gate since it seems high gain focused.

Amazing Amp For The Price

For $149 this amp is a killer little known fact it is actually the same amp "Eric" AKA (TheDooo) uses. I love this amp I do plan to upgrade to the V.I.P 2 Soon Hopefully.

bqschil

Good amp (especially if you haven't compiled a set of pedals)

The biggest downside to this amp is that to get a CLEAN sound on the bypass, you have to reset defaults. It's not difficult by any stretch, but it's a bit annoying.

tylercigan

Meh cheap starter amp

My amp, I don't know if this one is a fault. It gets nice and loud but it has a constant wine. The pedals and sound are great, its just the constant wine that really kills it.

tylercigan

Revision, this amp sucks ass. At first I thought it sounded great, the tiny speaker is nice when its quiet but when you crank it up it just goes haywire. The pedal effects are neat but when you turn it off you have to reset all of the settings, its a pain in the ass to work with, I'd rather get an amp that is clean and use actual pedals to work the sound.
