Pretty much the Sony 7506 with a different label
Very comfortable and good sounding headphones. They have a very flat response, so for everyday listening they sound weak in the bass range. But for recording and mixing, you get an accurate sound. Ear pads flaked off and died after a couple years, but replacements are not hard to find and install. The coiled cord is nice.

Very good headphones. Comfortable, clear, plays things without modified bass or anything.
My Stepdad gave me these, and he was allegedly given these by Michael Jackson's producer in the 90's. I cherish these well. These are built for production and therefore are flat out "vanilla" with sound. Normal headphones have some kind of mods like bass or mids, but these play the tracks EXACTLY how they were produced. I have to say, this factor has improved my production and mastering. Thanks Sony!

I've had these for 2 years now and they're simply the best headphones I've ever used clean with great lows and a flat sound

how long should I burn in my new Sony MDR-V6 headphones? And do I play music or pink noise?
Toshiya used the Sony MDR-V6 Dynamic Stereo Headphones while recording "The World of Mercy," as shown in the YouTube video "Dir en Grey — The World of Mercy (Scenes from Recording)". These headphones were also used during the recording of "VANITAS" and "Uroboros."
"I have, of course, the Sony Studio Monitor headphones which are the industry standard. Just fantastic. They actually make two - the $99 pair and the one for $129, and they're both fantastic. I've never heard a better headphone and never, ever found a more comfortable headphone. It's amazing to me how many people don't actually use those. But I always like using headphones when recording for the majority of the work."
