Reviewed: TC Electronic Brainwaves Pitch Shifter - Mixdown Magazine

mixdownmag.com.au

The TC Electronic Brainwaves Pitch Shifter dazzles with its robust build and impressive tonal accuracy, making it a standout for creative pitch manipulation. Its dual-voiced shifting and innovative MASH footswitch add a dynamic layer of playability, allowing musicians to easily explore a spectrum of sounds. The custom TonePrint feature further enhances its versatility, enabling users to beam new settings directly to the pedal. However, while the pedal excels in most scenarios, it does struggle slightly at extreme pitch shifts, producing some garble. Overall, the Brainwaves is a playful and powerful tool for guitarists, but those seeking pristine clarity at all ranges might need to temper their expectations.

90s Van Halen in a box

Once I setup the parameters on the TonePrint app, this pedal is on nearly 95% of the time I play. I love how it tackles the Van Halen sound and I’ll leave it on for other things too. I set the mash switch to give me a slightly more pronounced detune effect when I want it. Great pedal.
