Pro Guitar Shop writes in this article "It is almost unimaginable to picture Shields playing anything but his Fender Jaguars and Jazzmasters."

When asked by Guitar World about gear he used for the album Hardware, Billy Gibbons responded:

When we first arrived at the studio we only had the gear that was existing in that studio. All the backups, the known suspects, were yet to arrive, but in the corner I picked up an old Fender Jazzmaster that was leaning up against a ’61 Fender Piggyback amp and a Fender Reverb tank, something I hadn’t had the pleasure of plugging into for seemingly forever.

Jeff Beck's Fender Jazzmaster is mentioned in Beck's Guitar Center interview:

"As always, a familiar friend joined Jeff in the studio—his Fender Jeff Beck Signature Model Stratocaster. The Fender Strat has remained Jeff's favorite guitar since 1972, although he also played a Fender Esquire, Telecaster and Jazzmaster with the Yardbirds before switching to a Gibson Les Paul during his latter days with that band."

"1964 Fender Jazzmaster. Fender’s flagship model over the Telecaster and the Stratocaster. The Jazzmaster was made famous by the band The Ventures and is synonymous with surf music out of southern California. I bought this guitar in Columbus Ohio at a small shop. In this video of Blink 182 Tom can be seen using his modified Jazzmaster with only one pickup and volume knob at 00:47.

He plays a custom blue fender Jazzmaster at 58:15 Also used in the Takeover Tour

Josh can be seen using a Fender Jazzmaster throughout the Dark Necessities music video starting at 0:32.

In this photo, Thurston Moore can be seen playing Fender Jazzmaster. Also, Eric Baecht, guitar tech for Thurston Moore, said:

"The black Jazzmaster is a '61 and has been around since about '99 and is Thurston's main axe for Sonic and side projects. It goes where he goes, and is subject to all manner of abuse (files, knitting needles, etc.) so if I haven't seen it for a while, it's often a bit "broken." When we start a Sonic tour, I usually need to give it some special attention to get it show- worthy again."

In Premier Guitar's 2017 interview, Moore briefly discusses the 1961 Jazzmaster.

Yeah, being born in ’58, I was born the year Jazzmaster was born. Sometimes I get the guitars mixed up. I was talking to the Sonic Youth guitar techs who really look at the guitars. I think the history is, the gold Jazzmaster is a guitar that was given to me via Patti Smith after Sonic Youth got its equipment notoriously ripped off in California [in 1999]. The Patti Smith Group had their equipment ripped off at some point in the ’70s, so she was very understanding of the grief we were going through. She was doing a show in Northampton, Massachusetts, with her group and staying at our house. She said, “I know what it’s like. I want you to have one of our guitars.” I said, “You don’t have to do that.” She told her guitar tech, “Go get that guitar.” It was that gold Jazzmaster, and I was like, “This is really sweet.” I held onto it for a long time. I remember telling Tom Verlaine that she gifted me this guitar. He’s like, “I can’t believe she gave you that gold Jazzmaster.”

J Mascis uses several Fender Jazzmasters from various years in various finishes.

He talks about his ’58 Jazzmaster in this Rig Rundown from Premier Guitar. He says at 1:49:

“It's a '58 Jazzmaster that got refinished, I guess. I bought it refinished. I put some gold hardware on it. I had a gold whammy bar with a tremolo piece, but I haven't put it on, but I have it at home somewhere.”

At 3:30, J Mascis shows his blue Jazzmaster, saying:

“It had an Aneck and I think it had lace sensor pickups when I got it. I bought some other old pickups to put in it. I bought the pick guard and the bridge and then I ended up getting a ’59 neck to put on it. It's a ’63 body that's been refinished."

He also discusses his ’65 Sunburst Jazzmaster. At 7:32, he says:

“That’s ’65. That's the other main backup one. I had a friend who worked at Guitar Center in New Hampshire and he was like, "Oh we got a Jazz Master." and he sold it to me really cheap so I'd never even seen it, but it turned out to be pretty good.”
