R.I.P. Lemur - our first MIDI controller

When we first started playing with Ableton Live, the JazzMutant Lemur was unparalleled. The good ol' days before iPads took it out of commission. We have two of these, one first generation and another second generation. Will always have a soft spot in my heart for these little creatures, programming them was a bit of a hassle, but well worth it. My first DJ gig was using this and it still resonates in my mind as one of my favorite shows of all time. Customizing it to fit your needs was probably the best aspect. Fortunately the Lemur lives on in a great iPad App.

We need to make a special display in our studio for these.

Powerful Midi controller.

I bought this mostly because Deadmau5 had it, but this is a very powerful MIDI controller. With this device you are able to make your own MIDI controllers using Lemur's software editor, Jazz Editor. This item is now discontinued and is hard to find, but if you're looking to use the features of this device, they have an iPad application called "Liine Lemur."

At 1:06 in this video with Panorama Productions, Duda talks about his Lemur saying "the Lemur is talking over the ethernet connection to the Mac which is talking to my VST plugin, so I’ve got two way communication to the Lemur from this plugin and this plugin also has a second pair of ports that go two way to Ableton Live."
