Description

Meet the Keeley D&M Drive, a truly versatile drive/boost pedal that’s a product of a creative collaboration between pedal guru Robert Keeley and tone maestros Dan Steinhardt and Mick Taylor of That Pedal Show. This pedal is essentially two fantastic pedals in one, offering you a high-voltage boost side that creates a beautiful tone on any amp it pushes, and a drive side that provides a powerful gain stage ranging from an honest, flat overdrive to a searing-hot lead work with tons of sustain.

A key feature of the D&M Drive is its ability to morph your tone into a sexy and smoothly saturated midrange voice as you roll things up, delivering confidence and a distinct midrange voice that can be dialed in to give you the lead voicing of your dreams. The Drive side of the pedal is a perfect counterpoint to the Boost side; they can work independently or can be stacked together for an unparalleled musical experience.

A standout feature of the D&M Drive is the pro switching system, which allows you to select which side of the pedal comes first and integrate the pedal into a professional switching system like the G2, enabling it to act as two independent pedals. This pedal not only delivers rewarding guitar tones, but also provides an ample amount of headroom and a rich harmonic gain and sustain with dynamics.

The Keeley D&M Drive is a dual overdrive pedal that impresses with its versatility and quality. Combining the expertise of Robert Keeley with Mick and Dan from That Pedal Show, it offers both a Klon-like boost and an OCD-like drive, maintaining transparency and dynamics across various setups. Its standout feature is a switch that allows users to choose the order of boost and drive, providing flexible tonal options. While not revolutionary, it is a high-quality, inspiring tool that earns its place on any pedalboard.

Keeley D&M Drive — Anatomy of Guitar Tone

anatomyofguitartone.com

The Keeley D&M Drive stands out in a crowded overdrive market, offering a dynamic and lively sound that avoids excessive compression, preserving your guitar's natural tone. Its dual-channel design, featuring a versatile boost and drive, allows for creative stacking and customization. The pedal's output is powerful, making it perfect for pushing tube amps. While the power jack placement might require some cable adjustments, this is a minor issue in an otherwise brilliant design. With its ability to integrate into a true bypass setup, the D&M Drive is a top contender for any guitarist's pedalboard. Highly recommended.

Keeley D&M Drive Review

guitar.com

The Keeley D&M Drive is a versatile, compact dual pedal co-designed with That Pedal Show's hosts, offering a broad spectrum of drive tones from clean boosts to rock leads. Its two distinct channels cater to various styles, making it adaptable for different guitars and amps. The pedal's standout features include excellent tone quality, dynamic response, and glowing controls for visibility. However, its reliance on a 9V PSU and the positioning of the power input are minor inconveniences. Overall, it's a must-have for those seeking a multifaceted drive pedal.

Keeley D&M Drive and Boost review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Keeley D&M Drive is a dual-format pedal combining overdrive and boost sections, designed by experts Mick Taylor and Daniel Steinhardt. It offers versatility with stacking options and TRS cable compatibility for split usage. The boost section enhances midrange and single coil guitars, while the drive section provides rich harmonics and sustain. Critically praised for its flexibility and sound quality, the pedal's only downside is the awkward position of the nine-volt power input. Overall, it's a highly recommended choice for those seeking diverse tonal options in dual overdrive pedals.

Really great 2in1!

Absolutely in love with the boost (Mick) side of this pedal! Such a great tone to add onto a clean or breakup sound. The drive (Dan) side is also a solid drive tone. I like that this pedal gives you two pedals in one enclosure while only requiring one power cable and two patch cables, haha!

Dan and Mick know their stuff!

Still experimenting with it, but sounds great! Dan’s side is kind of like a mixture of an OCD and a full frequency Rat, sounds great with a Vox sound! Mick’s side is very Tube Screameresque midrange mixed with a klon, both sides have very high headroom and lots of volume on tap.

The only drive you need

What about a Klon pedal and an OCD pedal in the same box? Perfect stompbox!
