Amazing for own use
As a bass player, i use the HXFX with the Opus and Bass Revolt from Two notes, everything via midi, the Hxfx is for all my modulations effects, when I flip a page on ForScore everything change on my board, it a bit of a learning curve but now in studio or live session it’s so easy.

Bought for review... but!
I bought this HX-effects for a review a couple of months ago. Inside it's made well enough, and you can change the pre-sets etc. all by hand. There are no amplifier simulations in this gear - its simply effects and that's it!
Without the Helix editor software to be honest, had I known that Line6 put this on the market without the editor I would not have bought it... not even to review. Without that software I believe there are other units on the market cheaper and offer very much the same results... let's face it a reverb is a reverb! and a chorus is a chorus!
Without the Helix editor I rate this product as a 3 or 4 out of 10 and Line6 should know better than releasing hardware, promising the editor and then delaying the editor for months :( not recommended because of that.
Maybe when the software finally appears (if it ever will) then I will review it again and reconsider the position. Not currently recommended.

Hey Tony, how are you liking the Hx Effects now that the editor is out ?

The unit is better since the actual software appeared. Believe it or not I still have to complete the review on the HX effects. Part of the problem for me is that once I lose the urgency of actually completing a review when the unit is first released (strangely all the reviews I saw at that time seemed to suggest that the unit was 'great' which it really was not) then it's 'just another unit' on the pile to review when I get back to it.
Indeed likely I will get back to looking again at the HX effects, because as a unit without the amp simulations in there it's likely much better for guys that use real amps.

The learning curve is steep but well worth it.
Hx effects is the love child of Helix and the m9 but surpasses it’s predecessor by a considerable margin. The full list of everything this unit dose is too long to list. The effects onboard are amazing and being updated and improved all the time. It takes time to get used to how it works but the simple UI makes this fairly easy to do, the real time must be spent tweaking the effects to your desired settings. This can be done on the devise or through the computer software (hx editer). But Time is rewarded with outstanding effects. In all a amazing bit of kit that I cannot recommend highly enough.

All in One Powerhouse
This thing is the most flexible and well thought out music product I've ever used. Having a Bias Rack as my main man I miss out on having on-board effects so having this thing means I can have the best of both worlds between BIAS and Helix.
