Owner Insights

We analyzed real musician discussions from forums and Reddit to find what players love, question, and tweak about Pigtronix Infinity Looper.

Use cases and applications

  • Users appreciate the Infinity 3's capability to adjust loop tempo via MIDI clock in real-time, though stability of the adjustment is uncertain.

    Source
  • The Infinity Looper is suitable for users who only need two loops, making it ideal for simpler setups or specific performance needs.

    Source

Comparisons

  • Unlike the Infinity Looper, the Boomerang III cannot download loops as files via USB, which may impact usability for those needing to save loops for later use.

    Source
  • The Boomerang III surpasses the Infinity Looper in intuitive playability, despite being limited as a MIDI device, primarily following the clock.

    Source
  • In contrast to the Boomerang III, the Infinity 3 offers better UI but lacks some advanced features and customization found in other loopers like the RC-500.

    Source
  • Compared to others like the Boss RC-300 or EHX 4500, the Infinity Looper is valued for its extensive multi-track and MIDI capabilities at a competitive price.

    Source

Features and functionality

  • The Infinity Looper requires an additional footswitch to access expanded features like reverse and pitch shifting.

    Source
  • The original Infinity Looper has a known issue with input limiting when the signal is too hot, which cannot be turned off.

    Source
  • The Infinity Looper allows pitch shifting by changing loop speed; it can go from 1/4 speed two octaves down to 4x speed two octaves up.

    Source
  • Infinity 3 requires recording on Track 1 before Track 2 in split mode, causing frustration for users wanting flexible input-to-track mapping.

    Source
  • The looper's MIDI quantization aids timing precision, beneficial for users who struggle with maintaining consistent rhythm.

    Source
  • The looper supports series or parallel track playback, though it only plays one loop at a time, enabling transitions between song parts.

    Source
  • Users can program pitch changes over MIDI, which adds versatility to live performances and recording sessions.

    Source

Other

  • When powering up, ensure volume is down due to a loud crackling sound that could disrupt setups connected to amps or PAs.

    Source

Software and compatibility

  • The Infinity 3 has MIDI command issues; some commands like Reverse and Stop act erratically, despite programming success with other complex devices.

    Source

User experience

  • Owners report a loud crackling noise during device power-up, suggesting users lower their amp or PA volume beforehand.

    Source
  • The Infinity Looper's manual is notably comprehensive, at over 50 pages, providing detailed guidance on its extensive features.

    Source

Setup and maintenance

  • An external dual footswitch, compatible with any passive TRS dual switch, is necessary for reverse and pitch shifting functions.

    Source

Value and pricing

  • The Infinity Looper was originally priced at $450 CAD, but prices have increased due to its discontinuation; $360 US is considered reasonable for its capabilities.

Pigtronix Infinity Looper Preview

looperpedalreviews.com

The Pigtronix Infinity Looper offers a groundbreaking solution for live musicians, excelling with its two-track capability and flawless MIDI sync that outshines competitors like Boss and Digitech. It delivers pristine sound quality without tonal degradation, making it a stellar choice for those who need reliable looping in live settings. However, it comes with a hefty price tag and lacks a dedicated undo/redo switch unless you purchase an extra remote. Despite this, its innovative features and robust build make it an unparalleled tool for bands looking to synchronize loops effortlessly. A top choice for serious musicians.

A powerful tool for live use!

My pigtronix Infinity is the center of all my gear. It receives both guitar and bass signal, and i command which play, and when. I use it like a mixer, and looper, beeing that i play both instruments. The bass is attached to a stand, and my guitar stay on my shoulders. This way i can play both and operate the looper. Not problems at all. This pedal allow me make sweet transitions, stops and starts, fade outs. I can save presets using its all possibilities. It's very intuitive to use, and a quick view on manual is enough to learn the most advanced functions. I use it slaved by my DAW, Ableton Live, hooked up to receive beat clock and play together with pre recorded sounds on Ableton. Work seamlessy. Indeed a piece of art by Pigtronix.

Nice looper works well in combination with the Beatbuddy drum pedal.

Nice looper works well in combination with the Beatbuddy drum pedal. I have had to delve into the ministry. Fortunately, there is a clear manual. Thanks to this combination, the loop stays in good shape. Good thought has been given to the functions.

Squeak Piggy, Squeak!

Unique looper for the live performer(s). Really cool feature set including unique loop matching of second loop as multiple of first. If you want top end looper with good MIDI implementation then its this or the Rang III.

"The Pigtronix Infinity Looper is an incredibly versatile pedal. All looping but two separate loops that can be configured in multiple ways. It includes reverse, half-time (even double halftime) and undo commands if you get the dual footswitch remote controller (I did). It has loop decay along with the ability to save not only loops but also settings. Every loop I create can now be customized to specifically meet the needs of of the current situation. It’s giving me all kinds of new ideas and I’ve only had it a couple weeks. I seriously dig."
