A fantastic 2-in-1 pedal that oozes 80s oscillation coolness and slap-happy echoes
As most of us have had a Chorus pedal or two (or twenty) in our lifetime, I can wholeheartedly say that the original V1 H2O Liquid Chorus and Echo is my hands-down favorite! And despite its funky, clunky housing that takes up way too much pedalboard space, I still love the damn thing regardless. CHORUS SIDE: It absolutely nails Jake E. Lee's 'Bark At The Moon' tone, as well as that of many 80s Chorus-loving stalwarts like Alex Lifeson, Vivian Campbell, Ty Tabor, et al. It's so damn versatile with its 3-knob controls for Speed, Width and Delay Time--the latter really expands the sonic landscape of possibilities. My only beef with the unit (aside from its size) is that it's not the most transparent of stomps when using it in front of the amp's input. It almost sounds like a Flanger at times, and can get a tad noisy too, so I typically run it in my Rivera's buffered effects loop which tames it nicely. ECHO SIDE: Visual Sound says that the Echo side is "Analog Voiced" even though it's digital, so take that descrip of theirs with a grain of salt, as it doesn't sound that analog-esque to my ears. My unit has also had some flakiness issues with the 'Short/Long' switch in that it would sometimes swap functionality--i.e., the 'Short' side would become the 'Long' side and vice versa. Not sure why that happened, but I was able to take it directly to VS (they're only an hour North of where I live) and they fixed all of its issues while I waited for FREE, no less! Now that is what I call Customer Service, baby! All that said, I would love to try out the V3 box sometime to see how it compares sonically, but for my money, the V1 has been an integral part of my sound for a couple of decades now, and I'd buy it all over again in a New York minute.

Great chorus. Good echo. Stereo outs.
Natural, lush, and organic chorus that you can just leave on. Echo works well in series with other echoes or delays. I often use this last in my pedalboard because it has two outs.

Beautiful chorus & echo
Beautiful chorus / echo int the vain of most avantgarde sounds of eighties alternative/goth rock. Really useful pedal if you are into it.

U2 using Visual Sound pedals!
Fraser McAllister, guitar tech for U2, called us in March 2000, saying that Edge wanted to buy a Jekyll & Hyde and a Route 66. Apparently he had heard good things about them and wanted to give them a test drive. So we shipped off 2 pedals to Ireland and waited to hear the verdict.
A week later, Fraser called back to say that Edge liked both pedals a lot and was especially flipping over Route 66. He also said that Daniel Lanois, U2's producer, loved the Route 66 pedal and "would it be OK if we bought another one?" !! So off went another Route 66 pedal to Ireland. Rumor has it that the pedals ended up being used in several places on their Grammy Award-winning CD! Although Visual Sound does not have any official endorsers, we're honored to know that our pedals are being used by a world-class act like U2.
UPDATE: A reviewer on the Web recently posted the following: "Even the player The Edge of U2 loves his pedals! Saw one of the Visual Sound (H2O CHORUS) pedals on top of speaker-cab at the backround from The Edge when he was playing on the Elevation 2001 U2 Live from Boston DVD." I didn't know he had picked up an H2O, but I'm pleased he's using it! - Bob Weil
At 2:18 in this video, Syn's guitar tech Za talks about this pedal by saying, "We use this for echo, H2O."
According to Reverb's website, his current list of pedals also includes the Visual Sound H2O chorus and echo pedal.
"Right now I’m using the H2O chorus pedal, and occasionally a Dunlop Crybaby Bass Wah. Our style is straightforward heavy metal and heavy rock, so I don’t get too into bass effects. But every once in a while, it’s cool to through in a chorus."

In a YouTube demo by littleredguitars2, Jon Poulin showcases the Visual Sound H2O Chorus and Echo Pedal, demonstrating its features and sound.
"At the H2O, though, the signal splits and does a sort of wet/dry stereo thing, utilizint the stereo ins and outs of both Line6 units, for dual amp stuff. Useless live, but occasionally fun on records." - Osenga about H2O pedal.

The second successor version: https://truetone.com/v3-h2o/
As we reimagined the V3 version of our H2O pedal, it became important for us to try to manifest in this pedal, at least some concept of the rudimentary aspects of this amazing elixir that surrounds us and is an integral element of everyone’s bathroom and kitchen. Our hope was to attempt to capture the ebb and flow, the rhythms, the echoes and subtle nuance that make up the sonic composition of how our ears perceive liquid moving in the natural world around us and then apply it to an electric guitar signal (or acoustic guitar, or bass, or keyboard, or whatever inspires you).
This new pedalboard-friendly, V3 version, still delivers all of the classic H2O sounds you may already love, but it also reaches further into Davy Jones’ Locker than ever before. We’ve now added controls to not only swim between analog Chorus or Vibrato, but we’ve also added a “Tone” control and even a “Detune” switch to take you deep into watery depths that you’ve always wanted to reach (but were afraid to ask Mom & Dad about). When you dive fully into the Speed, Width and Depth knobs you’ll be able feel your signal swirl around you in a Leslie-esque eddy, or you can reduce them to find more subdued currents reminiscent of a lazy river that’s gently flowing to a relaxed and blissful tonal destination (Ah-h-h-h-h!). The hybrid-analog Echo we’ve incorporated into this version also has a broad range of delayed colors that should satisfy any musician’s pedantic palette. It can transport you from the short, slap-back echoes of that annoying dripping faucet in your bathroom (That your roommate refuses to take responsibility for, Ugh!), to the long mesmerizing depths of tidal waves and textured shimmers. It can encompass your tone with a warm, deep delay or ferry you on to controlled, eternal oscillations that will turn your mind into a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought, cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives (Thank you, Harvey Korman).

Warm! Liquid! Lush! All words that accurately describe the V2 Series H2O from Truetone. The H2O gives all the same great tones guitarists have come to love over the years.
