Excellent recreation

I've owned this twice now, obviously not like the original but is a close 2nd to the CE-2. Roland made the original n my chorus section will reflect that. 80s-90s Reba, Whitley, Vince... All damn day. Georgia woman, all damn day...

Somewhere between okay and legendary

It can be on the subtle side, but I doubt it can't cover the most desired chorus sounds. It does really well at adding body and character to your singing lead tones and clean arpeggios. Can only be slightly better or slightly worse than the other Boss choruses out there. It does the job well, and it's the first pedal that felt like a desert island pedal to me.

The Boss CE-5 produces sounds that remind me of a Mario Underwater level, I'd recommend this as a chorus to any body who is searching for a dynamic and cheap(ish) chorus!

Boss is the best for Chorus pedals

From Ch1 to CE5 there's no a bad chorus pedals in the history of boss. The CE5 is a summary of decades of experience of boss, the EQ section is very responsive that allows you to change from a crystal shiny chorus to a warm and liquid tone. In my opinion it has nothing super bad and nothing super good but it works for every sound you have in mind.

Used and Abused

I purchased mine second hand and could tell it had seen a lot of use. Well, Boss builds some amazing tank of pedals because it still works and is AWESOME! Excellent Chorus pedal! I had a choice between the Chorus Ensemble and the Super Chorus. Glad I went with the Ensemble!

Best Chorus Pedal

Tried this pedal alongside the Boss Super Chorus and the MXR Analog Chorus. I preferred the tone of the CE5 and when the rate was cranked, it didn't get muddy like the MXR. On top of that, you can't beat the housing of Boss pedals.

Flexible and useful

Truth be told, I'm not a huge chorus fan, but you kind of have to have one. I don't know if this will stay, but it has been with me quite awhile. It has more control flexibility than I have ever used and it took awhile for me to find sound useful to me, but I'm there now, so it's part of the stable. With my current set-up, I have not quite found the Scofield sound, but that's probably more me than anything on my board!
