Description
Electro-Harmonix EHX Tortion is your one-stop-shop for an expansive range of overdrive and distortion tones, a true testament to versatility. This pedal is no less than a library of tones, enabling you to achieve a spectrum of sounds from vintage overdrive to 80's hair metal to modern metal. It's your ultimate device to recreate any era of guitar sound with utmost precision and intuitiveness.
Designed to mimic a 4-stage guitar preamp, the EHX Tortion is loaded with tube-like JFET transistors, offering a unique touch-sensitive dynamic. The harder you strum, the more overdrive you get, a feature that emulates the behavior of a real tube amp.
In its normal mode, the EHX Tortion delivers low to medium gain settings. Engage the Boost mode to access a fourth gain stage for modern high-gain tones. With independent volume and gain modes for each operation, this pedal can function like a 2-channel device offering clean warmth to over-the-top distortion.

The most useful OD ever
I run this thing into a mixer from the direct out mainly for electric guitar, but it's great for acoustics as well. The direct out is not the best cab simulator you can find, obviously, but it does a fantastic job of giving warmth and amp-like qualities to a setup that's essentially a pedal into a mixer. The EQ is powerful if you want it to be. The clipping is as fat or tight as you want it to be. Just a lot a customizable options. And the boost is a good feature too. Only drawback is hiss when you dime everything and boost it, but what drive pedal doesn't have that? For the price, you can't find a more useful tool.
