Description
The Gretsch Country Gentleman is not just a guitar, it's a piece of music history that has shaped and defined the rock 'n' roll era. This instrument has been made famous by none other than The Beatles’ George Harrison and is bound to inspire with its distinct sound and style. Equipped with TV Jones Classic pickups, this guitar delivers a refined and articulate tone that adapts to any musical situation with ease.
Traditional Gretsch controls, including per-pickup volume controls, master volume, and a three-way tone switch, allow you to create countless tonal variations to suit your personal sound. The Gretsch “Squeezebox” paper-in-oil capacitors deliver a silky vintage high end, making it a delight to play.
The Gretsch Country Gentleman boasts a standard “U”-shaped maple neck with a 12”-radius ebony fingerboard, 22 frets, and zero-fret, promising a memorable playing experience for any style. The sealed body with simulated F Holes minimizes feedback, providing a truly authentic vintage tone. The Bigsby B6GVT vibrato tailpiece and a pinned “rocking” bar bridge ensure stable tuning, while the bone nut ensures the strings slide freely without binding in the slots.

Great guitar
I bought this because I primarily play acoustic guitar and I enjoy the feeling of hollow bodies. I was not disappointed as this guitar is amazingly versatile with it's pickup configuration. One thing that I would make sure one is aware of before purchasing this guitar is the fact that it can be very twangy. This guitar does not offer the same tone as a Gibson hollow body and I would not recommend this guitar for jazz.

In the article, it says he used a Gretsch CG because he was a fan of Chet Atkins.
Played 1967 Gretsch Country Gentlemen live with The View and solo also on "Ropewalk" and "No Thank You" albums.
In this transcription of a 1998 interview with Guitar magazine, Chad discussed the recording of Mansun's Six album. "As well as his previously mainstay, a Gibson ES-335... and his trusty Fender Tele Std, employed on the spikier riffs, Chad has also acquired a vintage Gretsch Country Gentleman and an old Fender Jaguar (both useful for Six's extensive trem waggling moments)."
Other odds and ends include a Gretsch Country Gentleman ("with a big tremelo on it"), and a Rickenbacker 12-string ("we were sitting round the studio with this 12-string, going: 'It won't tune up. Oh sod it — leave it!'").
In a live performance with the Brian Jonestown Massacre at the Trianon in Paris on June 27, 2016, Ryan Van Kriedt is seen playing a Gretsch Country Gentleman.
"My Country Gentleman has been around the world three times, and it doesn’t have a scratch on it… I always put something over a belt buckle or buttons on jeans to prevent rash. I have a ’63 (Epiphone) Casino that has also been around the world with me twice, and it’s mint. If you looked at it, you’d think it’s a new guitar."
IAN: "Rickenbacker twelve string through a Rockman in stereo, and a Gretsch through Broudie's Roland Chorus amp for a real dirty sound, harmonised a bit and compressed to bring it right up front. That heavy solo is a Gretsch Country Gentleman, through an Acoustic G260 (which is mine) – about 120w into a 12in speaker, it's just great for live and dead reliable — through an HH VS100, and through something else as well. It was great, 'cos normally when you're doing a guitar part you get a long lead and sit in the control room. With that, you go in the studio, and just put everything on full – I had to wear two pairs of headphones to keep out the noise. That kind of thing you have to do in one take, because you just can't control it."
