  • The Jupiter-80 is highlighted for its SuperNatural Acoustic patches, a strength not shared by the newer Zen-Core gear.

    Source
  • The Jupiter-80 lacks oscillator sync, which some users view as a shortcoming for a proper virtual analog synth.

    Source
  • The Jupiter-80 is described as neither the greatest nor worst virtual analog synth, providing a balanced performance among its peers.

    Source
  • The Integra 7 is highlighted as a more functional and affordable alternative for those who don't need keys, offering similar features in a rack format.

Critic Reviews

Roland Jupiter 80

soundonsound.com

The Roland Jupiter-80 is an expressive performance synth, praised for its powerful VA capabilities and excellent acoustic sounds, making it a solid choice for live use. The unique architecture can be confusing, and the effects structure lacks flexibility, but its sonic potential shines through. Despite its odd naming, which might mislead some, the Jupiter-80 stands out for its playability and innovative features. It's not a conventional synth but rewards those who explore its depths. Worth considering if you're seeking a stage synth with flair, but its price and unconventional design might deter some.

Roland Jupiter-80 review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Roland Jupiter-80 impresses with its expressive and versatile sound engine, offering stunningly realistic acoustic tones and a powerful synth section. However, its digital nature and limited hands-on controls may disappoint those seeking a true Jupiter-8 successor. Despite the sparse interface, its 'Supernatural' technology delivers dynamic, responsive playability, making it a strong contender for live performances. While not an analogue throwback, it stands out for its sonic capabilities, albeit with room for improvement in editing control. Overall, it's a modern powerhouse for those prioritizing sound quality over retro authenticity.

I know this is a digital synth, but to me it has a very distinct character.

This thing has a unique digital sound that is easily identified. I know this is a digital synth, but to me it has a very distinct character. The versatility of the patch programming in this synth is amazing. I love how the keyboard is setup and the touch screen workflow. It makes for really fast patch building. This is an incredible synth for Pop and R&B on the producer side of things.

Monstro produzido pela Roland. QUem toca se apaixona

Synth poderoso, com um som forte e envolvente. Pouco usado pelos artistas, acho que foi subestimado pelo mercado.
