great pedal - one of my favourite drives
ok so it is a digital drive and maybe not one for the purists, but I really like the tones I can get from this. Quite a transparent clean drive which allows each note to shine through

It is a great not only overdrive but distortion pedal
The price is higher that the usual boss pedals as it is a more special pedal because when the drive knob is set on maximum it gives a great distortion and can be used as a distortion pedal only. With all these i features i would recommend having one of these amongst your stompboxes.

It sounds artificial
When I first got the OD1X, I loved it - this was before I tried the Marshall Guv'nor. Then I realized that the overdrive just sounded fake - it tried to be a classic overdrive pedal.

"Yes. I’ve been messing around with a lot of stuff. [I’m] always swapping something out and making room because there’s only so much room in the place. I recommend highly the new DS-1X, and the new OD-1X is really cool too. That has a really cool sound. You can use it on its own, or you can put it in front of a dirty amp."

Although her current setup reportedly includes the Boss SD-1W overdrive, this post indicates a period of experimentation and adaptation, hinting at the potential use of the Boss OD-1X Overdrive.
