Description
Introducing the Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive Mod, a versatile overdrive pedal that offers not just a single tone, but a spectrum of sounds to cater to your creative needs. This pedal is more than your average overdrive effect, it's a sonic playground that invites you to explore its various flavors of gain and tonal adjustments.
The magic lies in the Sparkle Drive Mod's unique MOD switch, which lets you toggle between the classic 808-based circuit and three custom mods. This feature ensures that whether you are aiming for a bluesy grind, a vocal midrange, or a high-gain roar, this pedal has got you covered.
Adding to the pedal's versatility, the Sparkle Drive Mod's 'clean' control allows you to blend a boosted direct signal with your overdriven tone, a feature that restores the attack and feel of your playing. This is akin to playing through two amplifiers, a characteristic that sets this pedal apart from its peers.
True bypass switching via a high-reliability gold-contact relay guarantees your signal's integrity, making the Sparkle Drive Mod a reliable addition to any guitarist's setup.

It's 4 Pedals in One!
This pedal has a 4-detent knob that selects four different circuit configurations, representing the original Sparkle Drive sound that is a clone of an Ibanez Tube Screamer TS-808, and the three most popular user modifications to the TS-808, as follows: (1) higher gain lead tone, (2) mid scooped rhythm tone, (3) high gain overdrive/distortion.
I found all these settings to be very usable, especially the original tone, and the number one mod. Also useful is the "clean" knob, which allows you to mix into the sound your clean tone, so you can go from "White Wedding" tone to SRV with the twist of a knob.

Excellent tool for completing your pedalboard
Prior to purchasing I heard great things about the Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive Mod and now I couldn't imagine my board without it. For those who want to send a clean signal through their distortion this is an invaluable tool. Especially when you're like me and want to hear those notes through the distortion. It also includes 4 amp modes that change up tone with the turn of a knob. Even if that's not the case it can be used as a killer overdrive and you can even get some fuzz tones out of it too with the right knob adjustments. To be honest, this is one of those pedals you won't realize that you need until you have it or try it out.

A great pedal with one issue.
Setting 1 is the beloved Ibanez tube screamer setting. It replicates a JTM45 sound pretty well. I really like using this for rhythm work. The JCM800 channel is thick and has a ton of presence. It can make single coils sound huge. Those are the two channels I like. The only issue with this pedal is that you can't go from one to the other while playing. That said, when it's on my pedal board it's there for the JCM800 lead sound which makes a strat sound thick. The ability to blend in the clean sound is quite interesting, but I haven't used that. It has two other setting for modern metal. I don''t use that.

Gillard starts his pedal chain by running straight into a TC Electronic PolyTune tuner. From there, in order of signal flow, the sound hits a Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive Mod, an original Landgraff Dynamic Overdrive, a pair of Boss GE-7 Equalizers, TC Electronic Corona Mini Chorus, Boss PS-6 Harmonist, and an Electro-Harmonix Holy Grail Neo. The whole board is powered with a Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2+.
