    Source
  • For alternative, grunge, shoegaze, and post-punk genres, the Nano Big Muff provides a classic shoegaze fuzz sound, particularly when paired with an overdrive pedal.

Electro-Harmonix Nano Big Muff Pi Review - Guitar Gear Finder

guitargearfinder.com

The Electro-Harmonix Nano Big Muff Pi is a compact powerhouse that delivers the iconic Big Muff sound without the bulk. Its small size is a boon for pedalboard real estate, and it retains the same beloved fuzz tone that has graced countless classic tracks. True bypass and dual power options add to its versatility. While its simplicity means limited tonal flexibility, it excels at what it sets out to do: provide the classic Muff sound in a user-friendly package. For those seeking rich, fuzzy distortion in a durable, space-saving design, this pedal is a standout choice.

A good Muff

Almost as good as the Sovtek Green Muff I think. But Muffs can be a challenge with the amp cranked. So I use it with a cleaner seytting on my amp...

The most convenient Big Muff yet!

The Big Muff Nano replaced my original Big Muff the moment it was released. It has the same creamy, sweet and thick fuzz tones as the original but in a much more convenient package. This pedal is much more 'board friendly' with the addition of a smaller chassis and the use of 9 volt power so you don't have to go hunting for the power cable any more. The only downside for me personally is that my desired fuzz tone no longer lies with the Big Muff territory but I can still happily say that this pedal, and all Muff variants, are brilliant fuzz boxes.

liambrightman

THE Fuzz Pedal

This is the standard fuzz pedal. Has a great tone range, plenty of volume and a fuzz that can be as wild or tame as needed. If you like fuzz, you need a Big Muff. Great size compared to the original when it comes to pedal boards also.

gammabamma

Does exactly what it is meant to do.

I really wanted to love this pedal and I anticipated to use it all the time. It works 100% as I expected and sounds perfect. However, I rarely ever use it. The sound can be very overwhelming. No wonder Billy Corgan changed his sound over time.

peace_sand_rest

Perfect Fuzz

Perfect Fuzz every time. Pairs perfectly with a nice overdrive to push it further putting it more in front of other sounds.

mrweebr

Sounds great through an amp. Unusable direct in.

When played through a warm tube amp, this pedal sounds great. But if you play it direct in to record, it sounds so digitized that it's nearly unusable.

jailbreak

Devastating but tricky

Devastating pedal, wide range of sounds, but a little bit tricky to use and to set: you have to spend quie a loto of time setting this pedal!

davesolus

One of my favourite heavier distortion pedals.

It's not great for chugga metal palm mutes, but I'll say this: You want Gilmour Comfortably Numb tone? Because this is how you get Gilmour Comfortably Numb tone, without the more massive Pi taking up half your damn pedal board. I can riff out for days on this thing.

V

Just like the classic, only smaller.

This has all the tone of it's big brother, only in a much more pedalboard friendly size. This fuzz will not be leaving my board anytime soon. It has such a classic and intense sound, especially when used with other pedals. It is a staple in my set up.

sparkdnb

It's a little Big Muff

Really compact pedal but noisy as f**k But the sound of Big Muff is irreplaceable.
