Versatile setup but best to choose one sound per gig

This programmable pedal has many interesting effects and facilities including flanger, through-zero flanger, chorus, reverse and kill-dry as well as all kinds of hardware emulations - digital, analog emulation, tape emulation, etc.

But it's risky to assume you'll be able to change programs during a gig without hassle, because you'll need your phone and you know what phones can be like. Probably best to pick a setting for the whole gig. And if you do need to reprogram mid-gig, you really must mute your sound if you don't want your audience to run away thinking aliens are attacking, because the burst of programming chatter sounds very nasty.

So the pedal is inspiring because of the incredible versatility for a very reasonable price, but you should probably think of it as a fixed setup that you can choose from an infinite set of possibilities, and then stick with, rather than an editable setup.

Not bad

So far I have not been able to dial in a nice analog slapback delay. It just sounds too digital. Sometimes it loses it's toneprint and reverts to the default delay sound. I saw other users reporting this, so it's not just me. Another drawback is that you cannot view or edit an artists preset to your liking. You'll have to start from scratch every time. It would also be nice if you could store your own toneprints somewhere online, so that you can retrieve them when needed. Or have an editor on your smartphone. Now you have to choose between a standard artist toneprint or removing your pedal from the board to attach it to the computer via USB, which is cumbersome.

On the plus side, it's very versatile for a minimum of real estate on your board.

A lot of potential, but the accompanying software isn't up to par yet.

Sh*t-ton of delays and even more

If you take care of you pedalboard space then go for TC Flashback Mini. Does not really matter if you want to have a "set'n'forget" delay or explore the delay-rabbit-hole, Flashback Mini will do great. Wonderful pedal with tons of delays and modulation. Yes, modulation. Just plug it into PC and you can get a nice chorus/flanger/vibrato via TonePrint Editor. General quality is superior as always with TC Electronic.

Small footprint Big toolbox.

You don't have space on the P-board for a DL-4. With 1/10 the size of a DL-4 sans looper you have most of the delay types of the DL-4. With the Toneprints you and create delays that are not built in to standard delays. Lacking the looper of its larger siblings and physical control for delay types it is pretty easy to use the Toneprint app on your phone to beam a different delay type or ones created by Artist. If you need to otherwise, it has all the great versatility of the Mini's larger siblings.

I use this in with the Flashback to stack delays for ambient sound but a great pedal by itself.

A tone of capability for the price

Near infinite possibilities thanks to TonePrints if you are willing to spend the time on choosing the perfect delay for you. If not, its an excellent sounding delay in a tiny, well built package. Worth the investment.

Very versatile, easy to use.

Can achieve a wide range of delay settings using just the controls but also using the Toneprint software for Mac and IOS. Very good tones for how compact the pedal is.

Great simple delay pedal in a small footprint

The TC Electronic gear is all-pro gear. The Flashback series is a nice compromise to the Nova Delay series but in a small size.

Great little box

I use one of these with its bigger brother for rhythmic delays. Sounds great, cost little, and Toneprint makes it sound however you want.

Delay and chorus

I love this pedal. It is extremely versatile and it's really affordale. I love this thing even more because of the toneprint feature. I am currently using this pedal as a chorus effect. I made my own toneprint which let's me turn this pedal into a Chorus pedal. It has 7 seconds of delay time and I'm still exploring this effect.

Really versatile mini pedal

TC Electronic just nailed the mini pedals market with all its mini series, this one is not an exception. The default already is extremely good and with the Tone Print, you can get almost any delay sound you can imagine. The only downside compared to the Flashback Delay it's the lack of the loop function.
