If it works, doesnt sound like the mic on a Talkboy Tape Recorder, sounds clear and doesn't break the bank... ay, Hit me with it! i use it for vocals, recording various sounds to sample and actually ive used it as a room mic for Guitar amplifiers. i use this quite abit for that. it does a great job at that.

The Rookie Mistake
Peaky, bright, and inconsistent. This mic is heavily marketed towards beginners but at a professional looking price. I loved this mic because I thought I was supposed to, but time and experience are important teachers. It is a very expensive paperweight. The body might make for a nice boutique donor if one gutted it for a kit or something similar. I could tell you to save your money and buy something better, but if you're a beginner, I especially hope you look elsewhere.

Great budget mic
This mic, even though its cheaper as far as studio mics go, still performs great, and sounds professional after mixing. There is always a little extra in the higher frequencies that I enjoy.

Hard to beat for the money!
I use this mostly to track acoustic guitar, and for that purpose it's quite good. The pickup in my Taylor is also pretty good, so usually I double track with that and the AT2020 for a very serviceable easy-but-good acoustic sound. There are better mics out there, but you'd have to spend a lot more for them.

solid mic for the price, not much to say other then is mic.
pretty no thrills, but no big issues. pant coat as some lil paint dot splatter thingies, probably due to low qc, but it's not a big deal. very solid and flexable.

My studio vocal microphone.
While not the best microphone, the AT2020 works fantastically for an entry-level large-diaphragm condenser microphone.
I use this in the studio to record vocals, and it makes my voice sound very lively and airy, which is why I love it and haven't jumped on an upgrade yet.
Without a doubt would recommend to anyone looking for a condenser microphone to use anywhere it's needed.

Great Mic But I had Better
This mic gets the job done and sounds legit but I've had mics that are slightly and subtly better sounding but a lot more costly.

More recently, he has been using a Neumann TLM 103 large diaphragm mic. “I recommend the TLM 103 to anyone; it’s such a good microphone.”
Billie's vocals for 'Ocean Eyes' were recorded with the 2020, which sounds great. It's not quite as good as the Neumann, but I have never found a microphone that I like more than the 2020 that's less expensive than the Neumann. The 2020 is a really good starter microphone.
